Project Title: Empowering Youth for Climate-Resilient Agriculture in Northern Ghana
The Cooperative Agency for Research and Development (CARD) is pleased to share an update on the progress of the “Empowering Youth for Climate-Resilient Agriculture in Northern Ghana” project, funded under the EU–Youth Mobilization Fund.
The first phase of implementation has been successfully initiated, with the procurement, transportation, and delivery of key project inputs to Tosala Kumboni in the Chereponi District of the North East Region of Ghana, the designated project center. The community hosts a secured three (3) acres of land, which will serve as the primary site for project activities targeting youth and women.
This milestone officially marks the commencement of field-level implementation and lays a strong foundation for climate-smart agricultural training, demonstration farming, community engagement, and livelihood development.
Importantly, the project integrates skills development in agri-processing and agribusiness management, equipping beneficiaries with practical competencies in value addition, post-harvest handling, food processing, packaging, marketing, and small enterprise development. This approach is designed to enhance income generation and promote sustainable rural livelihoods beyond primary agricultural production.
